Before being attested as a probationary constable in November 1938, Frank Ferris was a police cadet for 3 ½ years. After serving on the Executive, Frank became treasurer in 1963, a position he held with distinction until he resigned in 1972 when he was promoted to inspector. Known for his policing skills and teamwork, Frank was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal in October 1977. A month later he retired with the rank of superintendent 1st class. After his retirement Frank became a full-time farmer in the Oberon district until his death on 17 March 2004.
