Masters_RalphRalph Masters served the Police Association from 1948–1969 with distinction and was known for his oratory and debating skills. His service included 18 years as a delegate to conference, 14 years as a member of the Country Executive and 9 years as a branch secretary. In 1973 he was promoted to the rank of inspector and in 1980 he was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal. Masters joined the police cadets in 1940 and was attested in 1943.He retired in 1982 with the rank of chief superintendent. Eight years into his retirement he was awarded the Star of Courage for an act of bravery. He died on 9 April 1996.
