NSW POLICE LEGACY APPEAL: Supporting Senior Constables ‘Jono’ Wright & Matt Foley

On the evening of Friday, 16 February the lives of two police officers were changed forever and while both are now in stable but serious conditions, they face lengthy recovery periods.

Campbelltown and Macquarie Fields Command Officers, Senior Constable Jonathon ‘Jono’ Wright and Senior Constable Matthew Foley were injured in an RBT crash when they were struck by a 22-year-old driver who veered into them while allegedly checking his phone.

Both officers were pinned between the car and a police van.

Surgeons were forced to amputate Senior Constable Wright’s right foot and the lower part of his leg. Senior Constable Foley suffered significant leg, arm and head injuries.

Your Association had Organisers on the ground immediately after the incident providing prompt support and critical incident advice. In the days following they have been by the side of family members and will remain close by to provide continued member and financial support as well as additional resources.

In support of the Police Family, your Association, in conjunction with NSW Police Legacy and the NSW Police Force, has set up an appeal account, and all donations will go directly to the families.

For any members wishing to donate, the details are below:
