President's Messages

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE - Tuesday 17 March

As we all know these are challenging times. My simple message to members today is to let you know that the Association has got your back during this current crisis.

We are monitoring issues closely as they arise and liaising with counterparts in other States and Territories through the Police Federation of Australia.

Where we believe steps need to be taken to protect you we are taking issues up directly with decision makers at the NSW Police Force. We did that with the decision process around non-essential stationary RBT and we will always keep your best interests front and centre.

It helps that we have a direct line of communication with the Commissioner and Minister to raise issues in a timely fashion. Added to that the Association has today been assigned a direct liaison role in relation to the Police Operations Centre for Coronavirus.

Over the days and weeks ahead we are focused on maintaining a steady flow of communication and service for the membership.

The Police Association office has been through our own preparations, contingency planning and capability testing. This means we can maintain, as much as possible, a business as usual approach.

As always take care out there, and please be safe.
