The PANSW is fighting for a pay rise of 25% over 4 years. We believe you deserve the same respect shown to teachers and paramedics. The vote will occur when the NSW Government makes an offer that your elected Executive recommends to the Membership. We have secured a backpay as outlined at Conference from the Premier, and in addition we have lodged our Award application in the Industrial Relations Commission to secure the commencement date and backpay. If and when we receive a final offer from the government, your executive will (with a recommendation) send to you for a vote
In addition, our claim seeks to amend incremental pay scales so they must provide for:
- an annual pay rise to every police officer at every level
- Senior Constables reaching the top salary in 10 years at LSC salary, Sergeants topping out at 5 years
- Remove overlapping pay scales, a promotion deserves a pay rise
We are claiming that our qualified trainers of our probationers should be financially recognised.
Your PBRI entitlements must be maintained as committed to by Premier Minns to ensure injured officers have the necessary safety net.
Your Award negotiating team remains in deep negotiations over the Award with NSWPF and the NSW Government, but it is important for members to know we have not received a formal offer from NSWPF at this stage for the Executive to consider sending to the membership for a vote.
Importantly, Premier Minns at the recent PANSW Biennial conference confirmed his commitment to backdate the pay rise awarded to police officers to 1 July 2024 when agreement is reached. So, any offer received irrespective of the timing of that offer will be guaranteed to be backdated to all members like it was signed and delivered by July 1. Secondly as we negotiate, our current award conditions remain as the status quo, nothing changes with your entitlements as we continue to negotiate the new award.
